Selfishness with ideas

We live dominated by ideas. We are desperately searching for that great idea that will allow us to launch our own business. We tirelessly evaluate hundreds of ideas, but none is good enough , none of which produces that "eureka!" ... and gradually we despair and discard the creation of our business.

Or maybe we were lucky, and we came up with that great idea that will change the world . We treasure it, keeping it as one who keeps a valuable jewel. Many times we have shared it with other people of absolute confidence after making them swear that they will not reveal it under penalty of high treason, waiting for their admiration.
And if some upstart bears the slightest mistake , we dismiss his comments with a gesture. After all, it is the fruit of our prodigious imagination.

"My preciouuuuuus..." as Gollum would say.

But unfortunately ideas per se are worthless . They are only the fruit of a happy coincidence, of the union of creativity and ingenuity. Nothing less. And nothing more. The problem is that nobody is going to buy your ideas. People and businesses buy finished products, not great ideas . And investors never put their money into ideas. They put it into ongoing projects.

That means you're going to have to bring your idea to light. To confront it with the ungrateful reality ... something that gives us terror. What if the world is not capable of assessing its genius and all the intricate nuances it entails? Well, I have bad news. Most likely, as you have designed it, it is not valued.

Because few ideas survive contact with the real world , and none becomes tangible without undergoing profound transformations. That wonderful idea of yours has been conceived using your value scheme as a reference. Your own needs and problems. And unfortunately not everyone is like us. In fact, most likely it is very few people ... which means that you will have to adapt your idea to YOUR needs (it does not work to adapt your needs to YOUR idea).

You do not believe me? Imagine 2 coffee shops. One beside the other. They serve the same coffee ... and yet one is empty, the other full. The same idea executed in 2 different ways.
The key therefore is not to have ideas. Everyone can have them. The important thing is to execute them, take them to the real world, and if possible as soon as possible. Because the sooner you convert your idea into reality and put it in front of clients, the sooner you will discover if you are on the right track or what is really valued by others.

Oh, and nobody is going to steal your idea . And if they steal it, do not worry. The same idea executed in different ways offers different results. What is going to make you rich is not your idea. It's how you're going to execute your idea. And you've been thinking about your future for a long time ... in fact, probably too much.

So forget that absurd zeal in your ideas. Share them Tell all the people you can.Listen with interest and a healthy skepticism to your points of view and advice. Your experiences Complement them with the ideas of others. Talk to your potential users about your idea. And evolve it . But above all, take it to the market. Soon. Because an idea that is not executed is an inconsequential exercise. And there is nothing sadder than wasting your time on something that is not going to produce you anything.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
